Frequently Asked Questions.

Do I need to book to use the Cycle Park?

No.

The cycle park is open to the public 24/7 days a week and there is no need to book to use it. There is a lot of space at the park which means many people riding can use it at the same time.

How do I find the Cycle Park?

The Cycle Park is situated on the Folly Sports Park. It is located beyond the far end of the rugby pitches. There is usually ample parking on the Folly Sports Park and Stanford Road leading down to it. Be careful when using the default location on a car satnav system as this may take you to an adjacent housing estate check on Google Maps before you leave!

Am I allowed to bring my dog to the Park?

Yes, of course! You're very welcome to bring your dog along to enjoy the space around the park. We do, however, ask you to clean up after your dog as the space is used by children.

Who looks after the Cycle Park?

The Faringdon Cycle Park land has been leased to the Farcycles cycling charity by the Vale of the White Horse District Council. Farcycles raised the funds, designed and built this unique facility in 2019. This means Farcycles and its members are responsible for maintaining it, keeping it clean and safe, providing lessons and running cycling courses.

Is the Cycle Park manned?

No. Although Farcycles run the Cycle Park they are generally only there when teaching or maintaining the site.

Do I need to bring a bike to use at the Park?

Yes.

If you're coming to use the site for recreational purposes, you will need to bring your own bike.

How do I contact you if I have a question or a concern about the Park?

You can either send us an email via our Contact form, or you can ring the Farcycles Bike Shop during opening hours on 01367 898068, and a Farcycles volunteer will be able to help you.

How do I organise a lesson for myself or my child?

Farcycles run Sunday Cycling Lessons from Easter through to the start of school in September. You can find out more about these and their availability if you visit our Eventbrite page. Farcycles also offer one-to-one ad hoc bike lessons which can be arranged at your convenience. To find out more send us an email via our Contact form.

Are there toilets at the Cycle Park?

No. We strongly recommend you plan ahead when it comes to the use of toilets!

Are there any food services at the Park?

No. The Park is not manned and there are no places to order food at the Park, however, there are places to eat in Faringdon and there is a Costa at the local retail park which is either a 10 minute walk or few minutes drive away.

Am I able to rent the Cycle Park for a group or event?

The Faringdon Cycle Park is open 24/7 for anyone and everybody to use. If you wish to organise an activity at the cycle park, you are more than welcome. We advise that you take out your own insurance and undertake your own risk assessments as required. If you would like the support of the Farcycles volunteers and access to the bikes we have available at the park, we request a small donation to the charity and we will happily attend and support you. Please contact us for more information.
